The Irish #UFC champion dropped a few news bombs during his recent pay-per-view interview with Ariel Helwani, including hints at a possible appearance at the #WWE's annual #WrestleMania event. "The Notorious" told Helwani that there have been some initial talks, but nothing is set in stone yet.
“Never say never,” McGregor said. “I know there have been conversations. I know Triple H was at the show [at UFC 205]. I’d love to go into that WWE and have a real knock. Let one of them have a real knock, and see what’s what, but we’ll see. The conversation's ongoing. I've turned down some things. The conversation is ongoing.”
It's going to take a big offer in order to entice McGregor into a WWE match, as he also stated during the PPV interview that he's already turned down a few lucrative offers in order to focus on his family, becoming a father, as well as a possible foray into the world of boxing. The champ admitted that he decided not to join the upcoming Predator sequel and won't be showing up on HBO's Game of Thrones.
"Look, I don't need nothing right now. I'm chilling," McGregor said. "I'm trying to make something I want to make happen. I'm trying to make something I feel would be historic."
Unless he does end up booking a "Money" matchup against Mayweather, it would be pretty cool to see McGregor at WrestleMania 33 on April 2 in Orlando. Well, as long as he doesn't wear this Dennis Hallman-inspired outfit.
