Since the legalization of MMA in New York, all eyes have been on the Empire State, especially since is going to be one of the biggest cards of the year, perhaps the biggest in the history of the sport.

We all can't afford the tickets (they start at $650 on Stubhub), so I have found some affordable options for New York MMA fans.

World Series of Fighting - December 31, 2016

is hosting a huge card on New Year's Eve at the theater at Madison Square Garden. The promotion will host four title fights on one of the craziest days of the year. The card will include 11 fights, and begins early enough in the day for fans to enjoy New Year's Eve festivities. Tickets go on sale October 28.

UFC Fight Night Albany - December 9, 2016

The UFC returns to New York, this time taking over Albany for its first fight night in the state capital. The card is headlined by and Shamil Abdurakhimov, with a pletheroa of New York residents littered throughout the fight card. The event will air live on UFC Fight Pass from the Times Union Center, with tickets starting at just $33. If you want to sit cageside, you can for just $143, which is probably still less than you'll pay for nosebleeds at UFC 205.

Fight Club Champion - January 14, 2017

Not much has been shared yet on this card, but it's set for mid- January in Brooklyn. This promotion regularly hosts events in New Jersey, so it's likely this will be its first New York card.

Stay tuned for more details as they become available, and in the meantime, check out some of the promotion's highlights to get you excited.

CAGED CHAOS 15 - Nov 5, 2016

This card takes place in Rochester, NY, with tickets starting at $30. It's definitely a more affordable option to its UFC counterpart.

The card will only host amateur bouts, which I have found to be just as exciting, if not more so, as pro MMA.
