Lucas Matthysse found himself with the perfect opportunity to move on from his tough knockout loss to Viktor Postal and remind fans of why he's one of the most exciting junior welterweights in the world.

Matthysse took on Emanuel Taylor in the second bout of the Canelo Alvarez vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr PPV card at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Taylor possessed all of the tools to frustrate Matthysse but on this night there'd be no stopping the Argentine boxer.

Matthysse had his way with Taylor from the opening bell and around the third round, it became apparent that Matthysse was fishing for the knockout victory.

That knockout came in the 5th round. Matthysse trapped Taylor on the ropes and finished him with a well-timed combination.

The fight officially ended at the 2:21 mark of round five. Matthysse now opens himself up to bigger fights at 147 pounds.
