Boxing has been alive and well in 2017 – May only added to its already spectacular slate of fights.

Heavy-hitters such as Terence Crawford, Gervonta Davis, and Errol Spence Jr. all delivered with TKOs. An impressive feat considering all three faced championship-caliber opponents and looked superb. All three will most likely fight again in 2017, which is music to fans of highlight reel stoppages.

Those three boxers carry a lot of name recognition, but there were other fighters that delivered impressive knockouts in May. Take a look at our list of the month's best boxing knockouts.

Gary Russell Jr. vs. Oscar Escandon

  • Date: May 20
  • Result: TKO - 7

Gary Russell Jr. used his size advantage to punish Oscar Escandon. Showcasing his hand speed and footwork, Rusell picked apart Escandon's defense and eventually stopped him.


Terence Crawford vs. Felix Diaz

  • Date: May 20
  • Result: TKO - 10

What can we say about Terence Crawford that hasn't been said? He dominated yet another opponent and the ease in which he earns these stoppage victories is becoming noteworthy. A move up to welterweight or a catchweight bout is in the near future for Bud.


Errol Spence Jr vs. Kell Brook

  • Date: May 27
  • Result: TKO - 11

In his toughest fight to date, Errol Spence Jr. showed that he's a bonafide star in the welterweight division by stopping the talented Kell Brook. No fighter other than Gennady "GGG" Golovkin had been able to punish Brook like Spence.


George Groves vs. Fedor Chudinov

  • Date: May 27
  • Result: TKO - 6

George Groves finally captures a title and in impressive stoppage. Groves entered the night on a 3-fight losing streak, but none of that matters when leaving with gold.


Gervonta Davis vs. Liam Walsh

  • Date: May 20
  • Result: TKO - 3

A bit wild at times, the young Gervonta Davis lived up to the hype in his aggressive stoppage of Liam Walsh. Davis traveled to the U.K. to defend his title and put the beat down on Walsh. This fight was another big step on the path toward stardom for the Mayweather Promotions boxer.
