There won't be a shortage of amazing, warrior women at the movies in 2017.

From the upcoming Wonder Woman flick to the latest Underworld sequel, female fighters will be front in center for pretty much every blockbuster film that will hit the big screen through next December.

Here are a five of the kick-ass heroines who will dominate theaters next year.

1. Wonder Woman

Fans got a taste of Gal Gadot's take-no-prisoners Wonder Woman in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The world will get a double dose of the warrior princess in 2017 as she's starring in her own solo movie and will have a big role in the DC Comics team-up flick Justice League.

2. Rey

We may not know who Rey's parents are (yet), but the Jakku resident turned jedi-in-training will definitely be kicking butts and taking names in next year's Star Wars: Episode VIII. Honestly, who can't wait to see what tricks she's picked up from Luke Skywalker?

3. Gamora

The green-skinned daughter of Thanos will once again be joining Peter Quill and the rest of the gang for next year's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. After seeing all the bodies she dropped last time around, enemies should beware of Zoe Saldana's Gamora in the upcoming Marvel sequel.

4. Selene

Kate Beckinsale will return as the vampire and werewolf slaying heroine when Underworld: Blood Wars debuts in January. While she's had no trouble taking out these ghoulish creatures in the past, Selene may have bitten off more than she can chew this time around.

5. Alice

Alice will take the fight to the Umbrella Corporation one last time in next year's Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. While we hate to say goodbye Milla Jovovich's iconic character, the likely last sequel looks to be a fitting end for this kick ass, female fighter.
