is looking to author J.K. Rowling for some inspiration following her shocking loss to Amanda Nunes at .

The former women's bantamweight champion took to her Instagram account on Monday afternoon to post a rare message in the wake of last month's tough defeat. Although Rousey is clearly still bummed over how the fight went down, she seems to have a sliver of optimism as she rebuilds herself after hitting "rock bottom."

Rousey used a quote from Rowling to offer fans a glimpse at her current mindset.

"And so rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life," the quote read.

The short social media post was Rousey's first remarks since her written statement to ESPN in the aftermath of UFC 207.

"I want to say thank you to all of my fans who have been there for me in not only the greatest moments but in the most difficult ones. Words cannot convey how much your love and support means to me," Rousey said in the statement. "I need to take some time to reflect and think about the future. Thank you for believing in me and understanding."

It will be interesting to see just how Rousey decides to rebuild herself this time around, as many members of the combat sports community hope she retires, including her own mother.

“I would like to see her retire," Dr. AnnMaria De Mars said to TMZ Sports earlier this month. "I would have liked to see her retire a long time ago."

Have we see the last of Rousey in the Octagon? Only time will tell.
