Who knew Homer Simpsons was such a good English teacher?

Champions' David Rispoli recently caught up with Junior Dos Santos for a fun on camera chat where the former heavyweight champion revealed that he actually learned how to speak English by watching episodes of . You read that right, Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and the rest of the Springfield gang helped the Brazilian bruiser with his language skills.

"I love to watch [The] Simpsons," Dos Santos said. "I started learning English watching [The] Simpsons."

Dos Santos and The Simpsons are a pretty perfect pair since they both have a knack for entertaining viewers on Fox. Although, the ex-champ's TV appearances usually involve more KO's and less "D'ohs."

Over the years, the series has also paid homage to the UFC and martial arts, as the show once parodied the famed promotion in a hilarious episode devoted to . Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has appeared on The Simpsons too, albeit in a skit that poked fun at the sport, particularly for its use of the guard.

The former UFC champ admits that it's probably not good advice to use a cartoon as your primary tool to learn a language, however it did pay dividends for him.

"It's not a good thing, but that's how it works," Dos Santos said.
