While the New Year hasn't arrived yet, 2017 is already shaping up to be great for fans of action flicks and their high octane sequels. From fierce female warriors taking on the undead to metal clawed mutants fighting for survival, next year will have a little something for every type of moviegoer.

10. Underworld: Blood Wars
Kate Beckinsale's Selene will kick off 2017 by taking on vampires and werewolves in Underworld: Blood Wars. The sequel is the fifth installment in the action horror series.

9. xXx: Return of Xander Cage
A number of action movie badasses will join Vin Diesel for his return to the xXx franchise. Donnie Yen, Tony Jaa, Samuel L. Jackson, as well as current #UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping are set to appear in the sequel.

8. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter
Milla Jovovich is back for one last film as the undead slaying Alice in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. Will she finally be able to take down the nefarious Umbrella Corporation? Guess we'll have to wait and see.

7. John Wick: Chapter 2
Apparently, bad guys haven't learned their lessons from the first #JohnWick, as Keanu Reeves is back as the ass-kicking hitman in next year's sequel. Expect a lot of broken bones and bloodshed in the upcoming action thriller.

Before Hugh Jackman retires as the adamantium-clawed mutant, he's taking one more ride as #Wolverine in the upcoming #XMen spinoff Logan. Jackman's last film as the superhero will be an ultra-violent affair, as the actor willingly took a pay cut to ensure its R-rating.

5. The Fate of the Furious
The eighth #FastandFurious film drives into theaters next spring, and it plans to bring a few major twists with it. Judging by the first trailer, Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto will be taking a villainous turn in the upcoming sequel. Luckily, the Rock and the rest of the crew will be there to try and stop him.

4. Transformers: The Last Knight
Say what you will about the #Transformers franchise, but the films always bring the action in addition to hefty box offices returns. The latest installment will pair series stars Mark Wahlberg and Josh Duhamel as they deal with the aftermath of Age of Extinction.

3. Kingsman: The Golden Circle
A ton of A-list actors are set to appear in 2017's Kingsman follow-up. The collection of stars who are joining Taron Egerton and Mark Strong in the action flick include Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, oh, and the "Rocket Man" himself, Elton John.

If you can't wait for another #StarWars movie after seeing #RogueOne, you're in luck. What's sure to be the most anticipated movie of 2017, the next Star Wars sequel will look to up the ante from 2015's #TheForceAwakens. Hopefully there will be some more lightsaber action now that Luke Skywalker is back in the picture.
